17 Jun 2009 - The Mimics software Learning Program is Launched in the USA!
Lake Tahoe, CA (USA), June 17-21, 2009 - Materialise is pleased to announce the start of the Mimics Educational Program - MimicsSE (Student Edition). The training was unveiled at the ASME Summer Bioengineering Discussion in Lake Tahoe, CA. Mimics SE was born out of a need spoken by professors to get cutting edge technology in the hands of students in arrange to set them apart as they come in the job market. The purpose of this course is to offer professors with a total curriculum package created for ease of implementation with realistic hands-on knowledge. The Materialise motto is “Driving your innovations”. In order for us to achieve this goal, we identify the magnitude of educating the future of the biomedical engineering industry. This has led to Materialise developing a curriculum based undergraduate version of our customary Mimics tool to equip students for the future with sought after applications skills. Mimics bridges the gap between medicinal image data and engineering creation and testing. Important biomedical companies and research institutions around the world are using Mimics software for endless applications. The personalization of health care is a growing trend. The capability to manipulate patient specific data to create enhanced solutions is clearly important. Providing cutting-edge companies who are leading this initiative with workers who are ready to hit the ground running is a target for Materialise. The Mimics software Learning Training contain the student edition of Mimics software (MimicsSE), a course book and data sets. The lessons book teaches skills of basic segmentation to sophisticated FEA meshing through tutorials and homework assignments in a step by step, easy-to-follow format. The data sets are patient specific and variety from cardiovascular to orthopaedic. In addition, students and professors receive access to the NEW Mimics User Community so that they can interact with professionals who are presently using Mimics software. Professors who beta tested the program in their classrooms are enthusiastic about this opportunity. Dr Binil Starly from the University of Oklahoma said, “The students find it [MimicsSE] easy, yet powerful enough to handle complex design…inclusion in their resume makes them more attractive to medical gadget engineering for internships and work opportunities.” Find additional information regarding Mimics software: Diagnostic imaging software
